Job description

As an Executive in the Design & Tool Room Department, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment necessary for the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and production personnel, to ensure efficient and effective tooling solutions. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment required for the manufacturing process.
  2. Collaborate with engineers and designers to create innovative and cost-effective tooling solutions.
  3. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models of tools and equipment.
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to determine the best approach for tooling design and development.
  5. Coordinate with external vendors or suppliers for the procurement of tooling components and materials.
  6. Work closely with production teams to understand their requirements and provide timely support for tooling-related issues.
  7. Perform tooling maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  8. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tooling processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
  10. Stay updated with the latest advancements in tooling technology and industry trends.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in tooling design and development, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  4. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling standards.
  5. Familiarity with machining techniques, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
  6. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
