Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the boat.

  • Ensure all engineering maintenance is conducted according to the company's PM program.
  • Maintain and update vessel discrepancy reporting and complete daily engine logs.

Description

 Dann Marine Towing, LC. Is, a sixth-generation family owned and operated tugboat company, managing a fleet of 24 ocean going tugboats and inland push boats. Our vessels range in horsepower from 1100 H.P. to 6200 H.P. The fleet operates on the US East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, as well as on the Great Lakes. All vessels in the fleet are equipped with the latest navigation and communication equipment available today. Each vessel is staffed by qualified and professional crews. In addition to the vessels, Dann Marine Towing has a fleet of Tank, Jumbo Hopper barges and deck barges, as well as five self-unloading cement barges that are available for charter. 


 The Engineer is directly responsible to the vessel Captain for the proper operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the boat, and to safely operate and efficiently maintain the boat machinery. The Engineer is accountable for all engine room tools and equipment and the following duties/responsibilities listed below but not limited to.

  • Submit monthly requisition of parts/supplies for vessel
  • Ensure all designated engineering maintenance is conducted in accordance to company PM program
  • Transfer of vessel fuel, lube, water, etc.
  • Maintain/Repair in a professional manner within the scope of their abilities
  • Communications between vessel and shoreside personnel
  • Maintain/Update vessel discrepancy reporting
  • Ensure daily engine logs are completed
  • Designated Firefighting expert therefore maintains all fire fighting equipment and train vessel crew in the operations
  • Maintain/Upkeep vessels engine room
  • Assist Port Engineers or outside vendors they are aboard for repairs
  • Some vessels are 4-man crews - and as such the Engineer would work on deck as well as engine room.

Requirements

 Qualifications:
