Job description

Program Manager, Federal Health Care Consulting

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health agencies, has an opening for a Program Manager with Federal Health Care Consulting experience. You will work closely with and support Federal health clients in the planning and implementation of major strategic and organizational transformation initiatives. You will collaborate with client leadership to set expectations for deliverables, shape work product development, and ensure quality delivery from our analyst staff, in addition to supporting performance management and continuous process improvement for our clients. The ideal candidates will have at least ten (10) years of experience supporting the VHA or HHS as a contractor or employee in implementing high-visibility and/or enterprise-level projects, programs, and initiatives. Experience working as a trusted advisor and/or leading similar projects, programs, and initiatives with other large health systems is also preferred. The selected candidate must reside in the U.S.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Manager will be responsible for leading and managing projects to conceptualize, design, and develop a wide range of solutions, including: 

  • Strategic leadership for programs valued at 5-20M, 50 or more teaming partners, and 50 or more staff within VHA
  • Maintaining the Work Breakdown Structure and tracking progress to meet specific client requirements
  • Maintains and manages relationships with senior-level management within the client organization
  • Coordinating with consultants and subcontractors providing supplemental support
  • Determining the optimum mix of skills and modalities to meet client requirements
  • Establishing project-specific templates and delivery standards
  • Providing quality assurance for work products
  • Effectively leading a project team
  • Developing client briefing documents, reports, and presentations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Systems Administration, or a similar field
  • Minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in management consulting
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience managing programs valued at 5-20M, 50 or more teaming partners, and 50 or more staff
  • Experience working across multiple dynamic organizations, driving all stakeholders toward a shared mission
  • Experience organizing a diverse team of senior leaders and clients while flexibly adjusting to managing shifting demands and ambiguity, reprioritization of objectives, and mitigating rapid change
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while interacting and managing a variety of stakeholders during critical programmatic periods
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
  • Proven ability to identify and help resolve issues and risks, and prevent escalation whenever possible
  • Proven ability to drive a team of diverse stakeholders, ensuring that all requirements are fulfilled
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain a public trust
