We are actively hiring a Senior Software Engineer at Railroad19, Inc., with experience in the Java development language, AWS, and a strong foundation in SQL/PostgreSQL. The candidate will serve as a technical resource for developing clean and maintainable code.

The role is 100% remote, U.S.-located, and is full-time only (no contractors, Corp-to-Corp, or 1099).
Core Responsibilities:
Understand our client's fast-moving business requirements.
Investigate & troubleshoot appropriate solutions with multiple stakeholders.
Deploy updated code to development, Quality Assurance, and Product environments through Gitlab Pipelines and SQL scripts in DBeaver
Fix bugs or add features in the Java codebase for a plan.
Write and update SQL validation queries for data validation between several projects.
Participate in deployment release planning and production releases for bug fixes.
Improve current reporting processes to automate and streamline current functionality where possible.
Improve current processes to optimize database SQL queries and stored procedures.
Triage, investigate, and troubleshoot incoming errors from various data streams including Kafka streams, Oracle Golden Gate streams, OnPrem SQL stored procedure jobs and validations, Postgres stored procedure jobs and validations, and Lambda functions (Java and Python)
Examine various codebases and SQL queries to determine how and why a certain error was thrown for a particular data point.
Identify impacted data from an error and provide suggestions to the team for short-term and long-term fixes for data.
Execute short-term and long-term fixes as needed, including executing SQL statements, updating codebases, and deploying.
Write detailed analysis reports including root causes, short-term fixes, and long-term fixes
Document incoming errors in Excel and ShareFile, including all supporting documents (written analysis, Pivotal Tracker tickets, emails, screenshots of database states, JSON objects, etc.)
Create Pivotal Tracker tickets for new errors and ensure those are properly IPMed during weekly Tech meetings.
Answer team member questions about various aspects of the data pipeline.
Manage and track multiple errors daily, ensuring efficient and timely resolution of those errors.
Available for the support of triaging errors and fixing errors
Demonstrates willingness to learn new technologies and takes pride in delivering working software.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience participating in an agile team.
Is self-directed and can effectively contribute with little supervision.
