Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is seeking an Education Project Manager for a part time, contract position to support the Interim Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies, Dean of Art + Design, and Dean of Academics. This role will collaborate closely with all three deans and the Provost to ensure administrative tasks are efficiently managed as new academic programs are developed and launched. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicative, and experienced in managing multiple priorities within an educational environment. Responsibilities include coordinating timelines and deliverables, facilitating communication between academic leadership and departments, providing administrative support such as scheduling and documentation, and identifying solutions to keep projects on track. The Education Project Manager will also assist with program development logistics and contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency. Previous project management experience in higher education is preferred, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This part-time contract role is remote-friendly and offers the opportunity to support meaningful academic initiatives during a time of exciting growth at RMCAD.
Required Qualifications:
Certification and/or training specific to project management (PMP, CAPM, etc.) or 3-5 years pf proven experience in project management in higher education or a creative institution
Must live in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, NY, VA or TX
Experience in scheduling, task coordination, and generating reports across multiple departments
Experience in working with academic leadership
Experience working with Google Workspace and Kanbanchi
Previous experience working as a Project Manager in education (K-12 districts, colleges, or state education agencies)
Ability to manage timelines, budgets, resources, and risks
Familiarity with metrics, outcomes tracking, and education compliance reporting
Deep understanding of project lifecycles, scope definition, timeline creation, and outcome tracking
Familiarity with academic calendars, curriculum cycles, and institutional governance
Skilled in preparing and delivering presentations for executive audiences
Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Provost and Deans of RMCAD to coordinate and schedule meetings across departments, ensuring alignment with project timelines and key stakeholder availability
Maintain and manage shared calendars, tracking important deadlines, events, and rollout milestones
Provide administrative support to Deans and leadership teams during the development and launch of new academic units
Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure accountability and progress
Assist in the creation and distribution of internal communications, project updates, and scheduling notifications
Organize and maintain project files, documentation, and records in accordance with institutional standards
Track project timelines and task progress to support smooth department implementation and operational readiness
Support cross-functional teams with clerical tasks including data entry, correspondence, and document formatting
Anticipate and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts, ensuring a smooth coordination of calendars and resources
Contribute to developing standardized workflows and administrative procedures for newly established departments
