Job Summary

As the Senior Director of HR Operations, you will serve as a key leader within the Human Resources team, reporting directly to the CHRO. You will be responsible for overseeing compensation, benefits, HR systems, performance management, and process optimization to support strategic growth. This role plays a strategic part in aligning HR operational excellence with the company’s business objectives and growth goals, enabling a scalable and employee-centric HR infrastructure.

Education

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification preferred: SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or SPHR.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including at least 5 years in HR Operations or Shared Services leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing and developing HR professionals.
  • Hands-on experience leading compensation and benefits administration programs.
  • 4+ years of experience working with HRIS systems (UKG preferred), including implementation or optimization.
  • Proven track record of managing HR compliance and risk in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience building and tracking HR metrics and KPIs across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Prior experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and IT to execute enterprise initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HR operations including compensation, benefits, payroll, employee data management, and compliance.
  • Develop and ensure consistent application of compensation philosophy and internal equity standards.
  • Oversee annual benefits strategy and open enrollment in partnership with brokers and the CHRO.
  • Lead the design and delivery of HR metrics and dashboards (e.g., turnover, TTF, cost-per-hire).
  • Own and optimize HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG Pro), including data integrity, reporting, and system enhancements.
  • Regularly audit HRIS and compensation data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage and develop the HR Program Manager, Payroll Specialist, and related operational staff.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and process excellence across all HR operations.
  • Serve as HR liaison to Finance, Legal, and IT for enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and employment legislation.
  • Champion a high-performance, service-oriented culture aligned with Baylor Genetics' values.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program.

Skills And Competencies

  • Ability to translate organizational goals into scalable HR operational strategies.
  • Proven success in leading, mentoring, and developing HR teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems and technologies; advanced experience with UKG is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Skilled in managing large-scale projects and juggling multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in interpreting data and metrics to make informed decisions.
  • Track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with executive presence.
  • High EQ with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Occasional travel may be required.
