Senior Account Manager - Performance Products

Huntsman is seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Senior Account Manager (m/f/d) with a strong background in the specialty chemicals sector to lead account management and drive business development for our Performance Products division with focus towards Maleic Anhydride and Ethylene Amines across Europe.

This is an exciting full-time, permanent, home-based role (ideally in Germany). You will report to the Sales Manager Europe and will be responsible for managing and expanding our market presence and achieving growth objectives across the European region including the management of some global Key Accounts.

Additionally, as Senior Account Manager (m/f/d), you will:

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of customers across Europe, ensuring financial and commercial growth targets are met. This includes, implementing and delivering the individual customer financial plans within the agreed commercial and marketing targets
  • Lead global and cross-functional Key Account teams to excel in growing profitable business
  • Manage and expand a portfolio of customers across Europe, ensuring financial and commercial growth targets are met
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships with key customers in Fuel & Lubes, Paper and Water treatment segments
  • Manage customer opportunities: build and follow up on product introductions with customers, ensuring growth and timely execution
  • Negotiate sales contracts, terms and conditions according to prices approved by Huntsman and in line with the current regulations and procedures
  • Actively manage credit performance and take corrective action within agreed business guidelines and support the certification and promotion activities
  • Collect market and competitor information and maintain a market review
  • Participate in cross-functional projects

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with previous experience in both an Account Management and New Business Development role within the chemicals sector with +10 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong communicator with proven account, business development and contract negotiation skills
  • Industry & Market knowledge for Fuel & Lubricant Additives, Paper & Water Treatment as well as Maleic Anhydride
  • Active network at key fuel and lubricant additive producers, knowledge about the value chain and OEM specifications
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with the ability to contribute to an organisation focused on delivering valuable results and continuous improvement
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. Be able to interact with various teams & departments at different levels
  • Willingness to travel within the region (+/-50%).
  • Fluency in German and English is essential
