About the Job We are looking for a talented and self-motivated Database Administrator and Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience architecting, developing, and maintaining large database systems for gathering and analyzing complex mechatronic systems.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Architect, design, implement and maintain local (PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB & MS-SQL) and potentially future cloud-based database and data analytics systems.
Experience with security, performance, and disaster recovery methodologies for data systems.
Develop analytic dashboards/frameworks to easily access metrology and performance data stored in the database systems, preferably with PowerBI or similar tools.
Provide guidance for best practices for large volume database systems.
Support, maintain and document database systems.
Work with IT to specify, commission, and maintain local database system hardware.
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
M.S. degree preferred.
5 + Years of experience in related fields.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB.
Database Administration.
Remote work is acceptable and negotiable.
Travel requirements up to 15%.
Preferred Experiences:
Ability to code in C# and Java/Javascript for database portals and stand-alone data extraction/analytics tools.
Experience with MS-SQL and Azure, Amazon AWS Data Lakes / Data Analytics (or equivalent cloud-based services).
Experience with Configuration / Source Management tools such as Mercurial.
Experience with data mining for capital equipment.
Experience interfacing with MRP-type systems for tracking/billing purposes.
Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing.
