What You Will Do
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive PMO Lead to establish and manage the Program Management Office for a large-scale transformation initiative at a global pharmaceutical client. This initiative spans multiple workstreams—including system migration, modernization, and re-architecture. As PMO Lead, you will be responsible for defining program governance, standardizing delivery practices, and ensuring alignment across business and technology stakeholders. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic thinking, attention to detail, and excellent cross-functional coordination.
Job Responsibilities
Build and operate the PMO function to govern a multi-year, cross-functional transformation program
Define and implement program governance structures, reporting cadences, and decision-making frameworks
Track and report on the overall progress of transformation workstreams (migrate, retie, modernize), ensuring timeline adherence and risk mitigation
Develop and manage workstream-level KPIs and program performance indicators
Establish communication protocols and provide clear updates regarding architectural, programmatic, and budget decisions
Enforce adherence to architecture and technical requirements (e.g., Windows server versions, IAM standards, database strategies)
Coordinate across domains to sustain progress and resolve blockers
Lead proactive, pod-agnostic planning efforts, including vendor coordination and internal stakeholder communication
Track contract renewals and align them with migration waves to avoid disruptions
Govern commitments made by teams, such as post-migration system updates and configuration management (CMDB, LeanIX) completions
Administer program-level logistics including scheduling, status reporting, and steering committee support
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field; PMP or similar certification preferred
8+ years of program/project management experience, with at least 3 years in PMO leadership roles
Experience standing up PMO functions for complex, enterprise-wide transformation programs
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and modernization initiatives
Proven ability to manage across multiple workstreams and align business and technology stakeholders
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a track record of executive reporting and governance leadership
Familiarity with pharmaceutical or life sciences industry environments, including regulatory and compliance requirements, is a strong plus
Hands-on experience with portfolio tracking tools, PMO software, and change management systems (e.g., LeanIX, CMDB)
