Claims Product Owner Associate
Job Summary
The Associate Claims Product Owner position is responsible for supporting the product vision and high-level priorities and communicating the product vision, strategy and direction to the product development team. This position requires a high degree of skill in converting business priorities into product backlog and user stories in order to ensure developing the right product for our agents to support our members, aligning with business goals and objectives.
The position is a great collaborator and a fast self-learner with great problem solving and troubleshooting skills, possesses the ability to communicate and collaborate on requirements, and takes complex problems and redefines them, re-scopes them, and transforms them into simple solutions.
Job Duties
- Understand the product vision, high-level priorities, and business goals from the Product Owner. As a dedicated, co-located member of the product team, communicate product vision, strategy and direction to the product development team. Convert high-level business priorities into the product backlog and user stories. Create acceptance criteria for user stories in the backlog. Develop detailed user stories, which may include some or all of the following supplemental information: business process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams. Prioritize the product backlog.
- Work with the product development team to understand flow and rules in order to provide application design. Collaborate with the product development team to document requirements and formulate usability and acceptance tests. Convert insights from user and usability tests into backlog items and user stories.
- Participate in team stand-ups and retrospectives. Facilitate iteration planning meetings. Escalate risks and issues through team meetings, formal and informal communication. Determine the next build to release. Write release notes. Monitor defect reporting and convert defect into product backlog.
- Cultivate relationships with external vendors, partners, and development team members in the development of technology products. Produce and deliver executive and stakeholder presentations.
- Maintain a high level of skill and current knowledge of product line and apply knowledge in creation of flow and rules that help guide the development of product initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience Required
- 7-9 years Claims business/process or related experience. Required
- Demonstrated experience in project management required.
- Demonstrated experience managing KPIs for enterprise products required.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and/or strategic planning experience required.
- Ability to think strategically and transform strategy into actionable plans required.
- Ability required in defining and leading implementation of new processes.
- Ability to coordinate and control major projects required.
- Strategic, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, especially in assessing consumer/site visitor needs defining a successful online experience that is consistent with the brand.
- Understanding of user interface (UI) and the basic principles and design qualities that have been shown to make web applications easier to use.
- Ability to compile, analyze and interpret statistical data.
- Organization, planning, and problem resolution skills with the ability to manage and develop various products at different stages of development.
- Goal-oriented, with ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and financial forecasting.
- Communication skills, to both internal and external stakeholders, both oral and written, including authorship of product-related documentation.
- Interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and senior executives.
- Ability to achieve business results and remain positive and focused on moving forward, regardless of obstacles.
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere.

- Certified Scrum Product Owner - Scrum Alliance Preferred
The starting pay range for this position is:
$106,200.00 - $156,400.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
