Job description

This is a remote position.

40 hours a week
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm California time includes 30-minute unpaid break



Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to support the accurate and timely management of our financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and organizing our QuickBooks account, reviewing and categorizing all transactions from the past year, and maintaining ongoing financial operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and configure QuickBooks for our business.

  • Review and categorize all financial transactions starting from the previous year.

  • Accurately record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.

  • Generate and send invoices; follow up on overdue accounts.

  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

  • Maintain and organize financial records and documentation.

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Process payroll in a timely and compliant manner.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

  • Assist in preparing for audits and financial reviews in collaboration with the accounting team.

  • Ensure compliance with current financial regulations and internal policies.




Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or similar role.

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Ability to set up and manage bookkeeping systems independently.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

  • Experience preparing reports and reconciling accounts.

  • Familiarity with tax and payroll regulations is a plus.

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with small businesses or startups.

  • Prior experience catching up and cleaning financial records.

  • Strong communication skills for working with business owners or external accountants.
