We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team

This is a hybrid role—part leadership, part deep technical contribution. You’ll manage one or more engineering teams depending on your experience and interests. These teams work across foundational cloud-native domains: Kubernetes internals, infrastructure orchestration, workload scheduling, secure on-prem deployment, and developer tooling.

You’ll help shape technical direction, support your team’s growth, and stay close to the code. Expect to spend at least half your time involved in technical work—be it design, review, prototyping, or implementation.

Responsibilities as an Engineering Manager:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams
  • Drive team execution by aligning delivery with business and product goals
  • Partner with Product Owners and Tech Leads to shape scope and roadmap
  • Ensure robustness, scalability, and security in all deliverables
  • Foster a culture of learning, ownership, and technical excellence
  • Actively contribute to hiring, onboarding, and team-building efforts
  • Be a role model and champion of CAST AI’s values and engineering culture
Responsibilities as a Software Engineer:
  • Contribute to architecture and hands-on development in one or more areas:
    • Kubernetes controllers, operators, and scheduling logic
    • Infrastructure-as-Code tooling, especially Terraform
    • CI/CD pipelines and secure release automation
    • Multi-cloud orchestration across AWS, GCP, Azure
    • Secure or air-gapped deployments for enterprise environments
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in Golang
  • Debug complex distributed systems (networking, containers, OS-level)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support customer onboarding
  • Take part in production support and incident response processes
Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong backend engineering background, ideally in Go
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes internals or cloud-native infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Deep familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (especially Terraform)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems (GitLab, GitHub) and release engineering best practices
  • Clear communicator with strong written and verbal English skills
  • Collaborative and action-oriented leadership style
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with secure or air-gapped deployment environments
  • Contributions to Kubernetes or CNCF open-source projects
  • Experience leading cross-functional efforts with customer-facing impact
What’s in it for you?
  • Work with top-tier engineers on technically ambitious projects
  • Shape the architecture and roadmap of critical cloud-native systems
  • Flexible working hours and remote-first culture (GMT 0 – GMT +3 preferred)
  • Fast iteration cycles—features ship in 1 to 4 weeks with tight feedback loops
  • Equity options and monthly salary up to €9,000, depending on experience
  • Minimal bureaucracy, maximum focus time
  • 10% personal innovation time and a generous budget for tools and learning

We’ll match you with the right team based on your expertise and interests - whether that’s building Kubernetes internals, secure cloud deployments, or developer-first infrastructure tooling.

Ready to lead the future of cloud-native automation? Apply now.
