OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Manager will lead the creation and oversight, as well as ensure flawless project execution, for our annual STEM Contest – Solve for Tomorrow. This Flagship Corporate Citizenship Program encourages students to use Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to solve a problem in their community.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creation and oversight of program plan and ensuring flawless project execution
  • Manage all aspects of the Solve for Tomorrow program, executing all work streams (outreach, alumni program, event planning and coordination, partnership management, etc.)
  • Craft and distribute year-round teacher/program communications, tailored for contest phase and recipient; develop and maintain communications calendar 
  • Nurture and develop relationships with program beneficiaries by acting as primary point of contact for all program-related questions, ensuring timely responses and positive interactions
  • Project management:
    • Create and maintain project plan for each Phase of Solve for Tomorrow with resource plan, defined milestones and associated tasks, and timeline
    • Ensure all project tasks are completed on-time and aligned with the objective; alert direct managers of any at-risk open items
  • Collaborate with internal communications team to write about and amplify the program on Newsroom and other internal comms channels
  • Collaborate with PR team on press releases, thought leadership, and other program content
  • Event management for in-person/ virtual program events
  • Budget, forecasting, and contract management:
    • Assist with managing against program budget, but tracking expenses and alerting direct managers of any at-risk items
    • Create and maintain supporting document for budgeting and forecasting; work directly with finance coordinators
    • Collect and document contract and invoices related to the Solve program; work closely with Samsung Legal and Finance teams to ensure on-time execution of related deliverables
  • Research to support program objectives
  • Provide recommendations for and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Management of all partner relationships (contracts, invoices, milestone calls, etc.)
  • Develop and manage relationship with third-party partner organizations, as well as internal teams, to ensure flawless execution
  • Create post-competition and other summary reports that will gauge the success of the Solve for Tomorrow program and inform future decision making
  • Work across Corporate Citizenship globally to share updates with subsidiaries on the program and discover further areas of collaboration with the overall department portfolio
  • Ad hoc tasks and analysis related to Solve for Tomorrow, as requested

Skills and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree [marketing, public relations, communications] with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with project management/coordination required
  • Ability to clearly communicate with multiple levels of the organization required
  • Prior experience in public relations and/or marketing industry preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Working knowledge of Project Management tools, a plus
  • Experience working on educational programs a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Solution-based mindset
  • Ideal candidate must have at least two years of experience within Public Relations and/or Marketing
  • Must have experience executing projects
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects
  • Read and interpret detailed and complex program requirements
  • Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels, especially in sales and marketing, logistics, legal and finance
  • Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames
  • Demonstrated excellence in time management skills and follow up to ensure meeting on time deliverables
  • The ability to accept tasks and problems/situations that differ and require creativity to search for solutions among learned consequences
  • High comfort-level with ambiguity and high pressure environments
