Description

This is a full-time, remote position based in our Mid-Atlantic/Ohio Valley Region (MD, DC, VA, DE, PA, OH, IN, WV, KY)

Are you an experienced employee benefit industry sales professional who enjoys the large case public sector market? Lead the way by introducing brokers and public sector clients to a truly differentiated group benefit solution with a unique national footprint!

MASA Access offers unique employer-paid and voluntary benefit solutions with strong cost-to-benefit ratios. As our new Public Sector Sales Executive, we will count on you to build a sellable pipeline of large-case public sector opportunities by developing direct client relationships and strategic broker/consultant partnerships to increase our public sector client base. MASA’s public sector target market includes state and local government entities, K-12 education, higher education, and non-profit hospital systems.

About Us

The unexpected high cost of emergency ground and air transportation increasingly catches families off guard and financially unprepared to pay bills or obtain access to care when and where they need it most. Since 1974, MASA has been solving the financial and logistical challenges of medical transportation. As the only national provider of group emergency transportation coverage, we are at the forefront of ensuring our members do not have to worry about the rising cost of emergency medical transportation, access to hospital-to-hospital transport, and even domestic and international medical repatriation.

We are not just a company – we are a close-knit team dedicated to "Protecting families with compassion when others don't." Our professional yet friendly company culture fosters collaboration, innovation, and a clear mission that resonates throughout every role as we support our expanding base of over 2 million members across the United States and the Caribbean. What You Will Do

Reporting to our Vice President Public Sector, you will directly market to public sector groups with over 2,000 lives and partner with your territory’s public sector-focused brokers/consultants to secure group contracts for MASA’s health plan risk mitigation strategy, employer-paid and voluntary coverage as a retention and access to care solution.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Direct Prospecting: Market and sell directly to public sector employers, using C-suite and HR relationships.
  • Broker Partnerships: Cultivate and manage public sector focused brokers in the territory, training them to position MASA as a compliment to their medical plan strategy.
  • Pipeline Building: Develop a pipeline with 30,000 to 50,000 total benefit eligible employees by Q2 2026 through industry conferences, association participation, purchasing coalition approvals, marketing campaigns, and market selling activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with fellow reps and the VP to share leads, refine market messaging, and hit team key performance indicators for the 1/1/26 through 1/1/27 sales cycle with significant sales contributions to our 5-year growth plan.
  • Regional Focus: Leverage deep knowledge of public sector ecosystems within the territory—regulations, access to care landscape, HR needs, and broker networks—to prioritize high-value opportunities (e.g., large school districts, key hospital systems, counties, and county cooperatives).

What We Need from You

  • 5+ years in B2B sales, with 3+ years prospecting directly to public sector customers (hospitals, municipalities, education) and closing $1M+ annually.
  • 3+ years collaborating with brokers (e.g., national and regional firms) to distribute health insurance benefits, voluntary supplemental health plans, or benefit administration/enrollment solutions.
  • Proven success selling to or managing groups with 2,000+ lives, navigating complex public sector sales processes and selling directly to decision makers.
  • Currently based in the territory with an active network of established clients, brokers, and industry contacts in the region.
  • Good at product education, developing mindshare and getting partners to buy into a new solution.
  • Current accident and health insurance license.
  • Demonstrated commitment to utilizing CRM technologies.
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

What We Will Provide You

  • Competitive base salary, commissions, bonuses, and comprehensive employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, and vision insurance with highly rated carriers; a 401(k) program with a company match; paid time off; company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and basic life insurance; and free MASA membership.
  • A professional and friendly company culture that supports a clear mission: "Protecting families with compassion when others don’t."
  • An opportunity to unleash your expertise and create a lasting impact on our journey of growth and success!
