About Us: 

All Voting is Local is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization that works year-round with our partners to prevent partisan interference in our elections, advance fair and inclusive rules on voter registration, and remove barriers that make it more difficult for people to vote – particularly for Black, Brown, Native American, and other historically marginalized communities. As a multi-state organization with a national presence and resources, we build connections between state and national advocacy groups so that local voices and perspectives inform the national conversation around voter access. 

All Voting is Local's (c)(4) affiliate, All Voting is Local Action, advocates for policies and legislative priorities that expand voter access and prevent partisan interference in our elections.

All Voting is Local is on the ground in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. During the 2024 cycle, All Voting programs expanded access for over 13 million voters.

Position Summary:

All Voting is Local seeks a Development Manager to rigorously project manage, and support its development and fundraising program.  Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Manager plays a key role in optimizing operational processes that drive our fundraising success, facilitating impactful donor communications and connections and supporting the creation of robust and efficient donor pipelines. The Development Manager will help in the fundraising for All Voting is Local and All Voting is Local Action.  

This position is considered a remote position but may require travel.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management: 
    • An ability to organize the development work and project manage fundraising work across the All Voting team. This includes executing on development deliverables and setting agendas for and running development-related meetings with internal and external stakeholders, all in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data Orientation: 
    • An ability to develop key performance indicators to measure, track, and strengthen areas of opportunity in All Voting development and fundraising efforts; is able to translate data into a narrative to troubleshoot challenges and/or to provide innovative solutions.
  • Database Management:
    • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the Bonterra/EveryAction database.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, including donor information, gift tracking, pledges, and fundraising appeals and campaigns.
    • Proactively leads regular database hygiene and maintenance efforts, including performing periodic audits.
    • Develops written policies, procedures, and training materials for processing and data management.
  • Gift Processing:
    • Process all gifts and ensure timely tax acknowledgment letters are sent to donors (within three business days of receipt of gift).
  • Donor Engagement & Cross-Functional Support:
    • Manage segmentation and tracking for donor communications, appeals, and acknowledgments.
    • Create tailored preparatory documents for donor meetings, cultivation and stewardship activities, conferences, events.
    • Work closely with Operations/Finance, Communications, and state and national program teams to align fundraising efforts, reconcile contributions, and ensure compliance.
  • Design, build, implement and continuously refine internal fundraising systems, and processes for All Voting is Local to manage relationships with donors and foundations. 
  • Develop and execute a schedule of regular donor/fundraising stewardship communications.
  • Understand, develop, and deliver on donor-facing communications, proposals, and reporting processes,; interfacing with necessary stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive final product.
  • Provide team leaders with research, memos, documents, and meeting preparation for a variety of conferences and meeting engagements that have a development and fundraising component.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years of total experience with 2+ years of direct and hands-on experience in developing, implementing, maintaining, and iterating new systems, processes, and practices.
  • Passion for voting rights, civil rights, and/or state-based work.
  • Superior attention to detail with a commitment to data integrity and quality of work.
  • Ability to develop key performance indicators to measure, track, and strengthen areas of opportunity in All Voting development and fundraising efforts; and is able to translate data and metrics into a narrative.
  • Ability to organize and project manage the full scope of the development department’s work across the All Voting team, including keen understanding of the grant lifecycle and executing on deliverables, and setting agendas for and running development-related meetings.
  • Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to set and follow through on goals independently, anticipate roadblocks and troubleshoot and resolve systems-related issues, and support others in managing their commitments. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and challenging deadlines.
 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with or has solid understanding of development strategy as it pertains to high net wealth individuals, foundations, and other sources of fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and best practices, including gift processing, donor stewardship, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing database queries, reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience in training and supporting staff in database/CRM usage.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
