Job description

Director of Power Marketing | Dylan Green | Remote

Our client is a renewable energy developer focused on utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across North America. Backed by a private equity firm with hundreds of millions of dollars in assets and deep expertise in clean energy, the platform combines committed capital with proven development, financing, and procurement capabilities.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Director of Power Marketing to lead efforts in shaping the company’s power off-take strategy and originating commercial opportunities across its utility-scale solar and battery storage portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to join an experienced, well-capitalized team building a next-generation clean energy platform. The Director will play a critical role in market outreach, forging relationships with potential buyers, and driving commercial strategy to support the successful development and financing of projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of energy markets, customer engagement, and structuring long-term off-take agreements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Guide the assessment and structuring of merchant and alternative revenue models, including innovative contract formats outside traditional power purchase agreements
  • Contribute to the commercial strategy for project monetization by crafting viable and bankable offtake approaches tailored to each asset
  • Partner closely with the commercial origination lead to identify and advance new offtake opportunities using data-driven outreach and customer segmentation analysis
  • Perform in-depth market intelligence and engage with counterparties and forecasting consultants to evaluate pricing dynamics for energy, renewable energy credits, and capacity
  • Interpret market demand signals by analyzing utility resource planning documents, regulatory filings, and broader economic indicators impacting electricity consumption
  • Provide insights on various offtake agreement types and advise on their relevance to the project portfolio
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are commercially positioned as they move toward readiness for offtake contracting
  • Contribute to drafting and submitting responses to commercial solicitations and requests for proposals
  • Support acquisition reviews by analyzing market value potential at proposed sites and contributing inputs for project pricing and revenue modeling
  • Drive commercial value across the active development portfolio by conducting market assessments, evaluating regulatory conditions related to energy monetization, and supporting revenue strategies for utility-scale solar and battery storage assets
  • Maintain regular engagement with both core and emerging U.S. power markets, collaborating with internal teams and external partners
  • Shape market positioning through strategic analysis of policy, pricing trends, and structural fundamentals to help the company secure and execute projects with strong economic performance
