Job description

The Director of Supply Planning will lead Kindthread’s global supply planning strategy, ensuring optimal inventory levels, production efficiency, and alignment with business goals. This role is critical to our S&OP process and requires strong collaboration with Demand Planning, Sourcing, Procurement, and Operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with deep supply planning experience, strong systems knowledge, and a track record of team development and cross-functional influence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global supply planning and align strategies with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity
  • Own the supply planning function within the S&OP process and present key insights and risks to executive leadership
  • Collaborate with Operations and manufacturing partners to develop scalable production plans across brands and geographies
  • Identify and resolve supply/demand imbalances and proactively mitigate risks
  • Drive the development and optimization of MRP and planning tools in partnership with IT and Supply Chain teams
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing supply planning team
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, efficiency, and system capabilities
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting and analytics to inform business decisions
  • Support ERP enhancements and lead key supply chain projects

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with 4+ years in leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in global supply planning, preferably in apparel, consumer goods, or discrete manufacturing
  • Deep knowledge of ERP and MRP systems; experience with system implementations or upgrades a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data tools preferred
  • Strong communicator with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (MBA or certification like APICS/CSCP preferred)

Compensation: $120k-$145k annual salary. Kindthread encourages applications from candidates of all levels where pay will be based on experience.
