Job description

Ready to revolutionize Special Education? Join us in reimagining what's possible.

Welcome to Unbound Academy – where we've turned traditional education on its head. As Arizona's pioneering virtual charter school, we've cracked the code: students master core academics through AI-powered learning in just 2 hours daily, opening up a world of possibilities for authentic, experiential learning. We're seeking a visionary Special Education leader who can bridge the worlds of precise IEP management and inspiring student coaching.

If you're an Arizona-based SPED expert who's mastered both the art of student connection and the science of program compliance, we want to talk. This isn't just another teaching position – it's an opportunity to help craft the future of special education in a setting where innovation meets intention.

Break free from conventional constraints and join us in building an educational experience that truly serves every student.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Architect and orchestrate state-compliant IEPs that empower rather than restrict
  • Transform virtual learning through creative accommodation strategies
  • Ignite student passion through dynamic workshops focusing on real-world skills
  • Cultivate student independence through personalized coaching sessions
  • Shape the future of special education alongside forward-thinking educators

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Wrestling with traditional classroom lectures – our AI handles the academic heavy lifting
  • Operating in a SPED silo – you'll be an integral part of our learning community
  • Drowning in bureaucratic busywork or endless meetings
  • Conforming to rigid, outdated educational frameworks

Special Education Instructional Coach Key Responsibilities

Champion our IEP program while creating engaging, life-changing virtual learning experiences that prepare students for real-world success.

Basic Requirements

  • Current Arizona resident with valid state Special Education certification
  • 3+ years of hands-on IEP development and management experience
  • Proven track record in SPED accommodation coordination and compliance
  • Demonstrated success working with middle-grade students (ages 8-14)
  • Natural on-camera presence and excellent virtual communication abilities
  • Available to begin July 2025
  • Adaptable mindset and comfort with educational technology
