Kincell is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Controller who will be a key contributor to a dynamic and collaborative Finance team.

The Corporate Controller is responsible for the organization's financial reporting, including expenditures, cash flow, profit and loss, and detailed site performance, to the executive team. They will manage the business's financial controls to acceptable accounting practices and provide timely information to the site leadership to allow them to control and manage their costs. They will advise on and critique major financial investments and customer proposals.

The Corporate Controller will provide the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has proper controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems within the Finance function. This position is responsible for meeting financial standards and ensuring that Kincell Bio is in full compliance with government policies and guidelines. The Controller will be responsible for running an annual audit, as well as interacting with tax advisors and banks.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation
  • Contribute as necessary to treasury management and tax compliance.

Accounting Operations

  • Lead and manage all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure proper accounting procedures are followed
  • Oversee account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Supervise day-to-day cash management and banking activities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a small accounting team
  • Develop and implement process improvements and best practices
  • Provide training and support to staff across departments on financial procedures

Systems & Technology

  • Maintain and improve accounting systems and tools
  • Work with IT and vendors to ensure effective integration and data integrity

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred

  • Familiarity with cash flow management and capital planning
  • Exposure to tax planning or coordination with tax advisors
  • Ability to work within Eastern Standard hours preferred.

Management Responsibilities

  • Hire, recruit, coach, and train employees within the Finance group
  • Continuously assess and ensure the appropriate finance team structure is in place to support growth. Identify gaps and ensure the proper hiring and development of employees with the support of Human Resources.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback and coaching, and take necessary action to ensure appropriate performance and goal attainment.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel to our sites in Gainesville, FL and Raleigh-Durham, NC may be required.

  • This is a fully remote position or can be based at our Gainesville, FL, or Raleigh-Durham, NC site.
