APTS® is searching for an Regional Director of Educational Services.
The school administrator duties include, but are not limited to:
State Requirement
The school administrator or designee shall at all times be on the premises of the school while the school is in operation
Direct Supervision Of
The compliance of APTS philosophy, standards, policies, procedures, and programs of study involved in meeting the educational programming needs for APTS students
Oversees supervision and coordination of daily operations for Educational Administrative Staff including School Counselor
Assists with recruiting, hiring, and retaining educational staff, and ensures that staff has appropriate credentials
Responsible for staff development; ensures compliance with state and local requirements
Appoints designated staff to supervise during absences
Oversight Of Program
Assists with developing, implementing, and monitoring the program in accordance to the VDOE, VAISEF, and other accrediting agencies
Maintains a safe and secure school environment
Maintains APTS equipment and supplies in a manner that fosters a safe, healthy, and sanitary environment for the students
Ensures that all incident reports are received, reviewed and disseminated to the appropriate parties
Consults the school staff in identifying staff development needs to improve student and staff achievement and ensure staff participation
Monitors and evaluates the quality of instruction and provides support as needed to improve instruction
Informs staff on duty who is responsible for the administration of the building at any given time
Establishes and maintains on-going communication with parents, LEAs, community resources and other APTS stakeholders
Requirements
Must hold a Master's degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership
Must hold a Virginia Postgraduate license in the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsements in School Administration and Supervision K-12 and Special Education
Have a minimum of five (5) years of direct teaching experience with students with disabilities
Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative role

APTS is a year round special education day school offering a highly structured classroom setting for students whose disabilities include Autism and other Developmental Disabilities, not limited to Emotional and or Learning Disabilities. The program specializes in an intensive delivery of services to students who engage in self-injurious behaviors (SIBs) as well as aggressive behaviors.
The primary focus is to support and challenge students in becoming as successful as they can be by facilitating their availability to learn and grow academically, socially, emotionally and in other areas of their lives. With full implementation of students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), students engage in the learning processes at APTS through academic, vocational and life skills tracks.
