Job description

The AI Native Email Marketing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution and optimization of AI native email marketing programs. This includes the strategic design, development, deployment, and performance analysis of campaigns and automated workflows utilizing AI. The role collaborates cross-functionally with category stakeholders to create targeted, data-driven AI initiatives that guide consumers through complex decision-making journeys.

Key responsibilities include leveraging AI to manage email deliverability, email rendering, and inbox placement through adherence to industry-standard protocols (e.g., DKIM, SPF, DMARC), and maintaining a high-quality contact database. This entails audience segmentation, behavioral targeting, and ongoing list hygiene to ensure optimal engagement and conversion performance utilizing among other things AI.

Email Database Management with AI Integration

  • Manage and optimize the email contact database by leveraging AI-driven segmentation using behavioral signals, engagement metrics, profile attributes, and event-based triggers to build intelligent, predictive audience segments.
  • Implement machine learning models to anticipate churn, identify high-value prospects, and trigger timely re-engagement flows.
  • Ensure list integrity through rigorous hygiene practices, including AI-assisted identification of risky or unengaged contacts, management of opt-outs, bounces, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards such as CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
  • Oversee and maintain email deliverability infrastructure, utilizing AI-enhanced third-party tools to monitor sender reputation, inbox placement, and authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), while proactively detecting anomalies in deliverability patterns.

Customer Journey Development Enhanced by AI

  • Architect and manage sophisticated, multi-step lifecycle automation workflows tailored to consumer behaviors and preferences across numerous verticals, incorporating predictive analytics to anticipate user needs and automate next-best actions.
  • Develop advanced Liquid and Handlebars logic, and integrate AI-generated content to personalize highly dynamic email, SMS, and web-push campaigns at scale.
  • Map end-to-end consumer journeys from initial brand exposure to post-conversion using AI to detect micro-moments and optimize timing and messaging across the funnel.
  • Continuously refine automation logic and content strategies based on AI-driven insights from campaign performance, A/B testing, and evolving audience behavior patterns, using tools such as recommendation engines and propensity scoring models.

Email Execution Powered by AI

  • Utilize the email marketing automation platform to build, customize, and deploy targeted campaigns to dynamic audience segments across all ConsumerAffairs business units (Retirement Living, Aspect, and Partners), applying AI-based predictive modeling for optimal campaign targeting.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-launch testing, including AI-powered content optimization (subject line, CTAs, tone) and rendering simulations across email clients/devices.
  • Develop and maintain robust performance reporting frameworks that leverage AI to deliver real-time dashboards with granular and aggregate insights across campaigns, categories, and partners.
  • Drive personalization at scale using profile-based dynamic content blocks, AI-generated recommendations, and behavioral targeting to enhance engagement and conversion.
  • Utilize APIs to integrate various tools and applications with the email marketing tool, enhancing reporting, marketing opportunities, and audience reach—while enabling AI-driven orchestration across platforms.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, natural language processing, predictive analytics) to streamline customer lifecycle management, enhance the customer experience, and drive internal cost efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and launching emails via enterprise ESPs (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • AI-native mindset with deep, demonstrated experience integrating artificial intelligence into the email lifecycle—such as using predictive send times, subject line generators, behavioral segmentation models, and dynamic AI content personalization.
  • Proficient in executing all parts of the email development lifecycle—from concept to design, development, AI-driven testing/optimization, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with design platforms like Sketch, Figma, Canva, or Photoshop, and an understanding of how generative AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney) can accelerate creative workflows.
  • Skilled in using analytics and AI-enhanced reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Datorama, or ESP-native analytics) to derive actionable insights and automate campaign optimization.
  • Experience integrating email programs with APIs and AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, or Amazon Personalize) is a strong plus.
  • Obsessively focused on delivering exceptional, intelligent customer experiences, using AI to anticipate needs, personalize interactions, and reduce friction for both internal and external audiences.
  • Confident and accountable in decision-making, transparent about outcomes, and willing to test and learn through AI experimentation.
  • Relentless about results, with a bias toward high-impact outcomes using tools that scale efforts through automation and predictive intelligence.
  • Bold in taking action; pivots confidently when AI insights reveal a better path forward.
  • Embodies a growth mindset, constantly seeking to upskill and leverage emerging AI capabilities to work smarter, not just harder.
  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement—using AI-assisted feedback loops (e.g., sentiment analysis, engagement heatmaps) to refine messaging and performance.
  • Collaborative team player who believes in AI-augmented teamwork, blending human intuition with machine learning insights to tackle challenges creatively.
