Job Purpose:
 

This position is responsible for the overall growth and management of strategic partnerships. This role focuses on building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring partner satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. This position will also support sales in outlining the vision of the partner experience, post-acquisition. The Director, Partner Management - Distribution, will play a crucial role in the company’s partner management ecosystem, ensuring seamless collaboration between sales, operations, and product teams to drive strategic success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop long term strategic partnership plans to ensure long term mutual growth with key partners.
  • Manage partner engagement, program growth, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Manage partner relationship and business development support teams. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key partners, facilitating communication and joint business planning.
  • Identify new opportunities for business expansion and growth through existing partnerships.
  • Lead contract renewal negotiations, leveraging internal cross functional teams, to maximize value for both the company and partners.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (business office, sales support) to align partner strategies, approach, and servicing.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams to ensure smooth partner onboarding, operational support, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze partner performance metrics, prepare management reports, and leverage data insights to drive engagement and improvement through partner account plan reviews.
  • Represent the company in partner meetings, industry events, and strategic discussions.

Job Requirements:

List of general education, background and experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities typically required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the job. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business or a related field. Master of Business Administration is preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in partner management, business development, and/or strategic account management.
  • Life & Health Insurance License and Property & Casualty License (both resident and non-resident) required within 90 days of employment.
  • Experience working in financial services is preferred.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining strong long term partner relationships.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, market strategy, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Strong background in cross functional collaboration, including sales, marketing, operational and business teams.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic partnership initiatives.
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills as well as a proactive and results driven mindset.
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM, salesforce) tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time or more.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise building an enterprise distribution partner management strategy.
  • Experience designing partner management processes, systems, and consistent roles across markets. 
  • Successfully managing large strategic partners for growth and retention. 
  • SAMA (strategic account management) certifications
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with influence across a variety of business units and various leadership levels.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$126,000.00 - $234,300.00
