Job Description

In this full-time permanent role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely submission of key hospital data to external agencies and Health Funds. This role supports compliance, optimises revenue assurance and contributes to overall data quality across all Epworth hospital sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for submissions including HCP and ANSNAP data, Private Hospital Data Bureau (PHDB), Victoria Department of Health and Human Services, AROC and cancer registration data, while also implementing strategies to minimise data entry errors. You will be part of the Health Partnership team and report to the Health Fund Contract Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate data submissions
  • Drive education and reduce data entry errors
  • Contribute to the Health Fund audit responses and reconciliation processes
  • Support revenue assurance initiatives
  • Engaging with stakeholders

To be successful in this role…
You will need an understanding of healthcare datasets (e.g., HCP, ANSNAP, PHDB, AROC and cancer registries) and are willing to learn and adapt. You will be proactive and solutions-focused, capable of investigating and resolving data discrepancies. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with clinical, administrative and finance teams. You will be highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy in data handling, submission and reconciliation. The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines will be key, as will a collaborative approach and a genuine interest in ensuring the hospital receives accurate funding through reliable data reporting.

You will have:

  • 5 years’ experience in private/public hospitals and healthcare funding systems
  • University degree in the field of health administration, health information management, nursing or other health-related discipline Non-negotiable skill / experience
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and act on it
  • Ability to analyse medical data and interpret in the context of contractual arrangements
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent comprehension (IT technical and/or general) of verbal and written instructions, processes, procedures and policy
  • Competence and skill using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Microsoft Teams/Zoom
