Position Overview

At Andela, we believe that exceptional experiences lead to exceptional performance. As we continue to scale, we’re investing deeply in building a people-first culture rooted in clarity, connection, and care. The People Experience Lead will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering programs that bring this culture to life.

Reporting to the VP of People, this role owns key employee lifecycle moments, internal communications, and engagement programs that shape how our people feel, grow, and thrive at Andela. It’s a highly cross-functional role requiring strong program management, a design-forward mindset, and an empathetic approach to employee needs.

The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-savvy, and thrives in fast-paced, remote-first environments. They bring strong internal comms skills, sharp attention to detail, and a genuine passion for crafting scalable, human-centered employee experiences. They are equally passionate about using data and measurement to drive continuous improvement and meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Own and enhance key “moments that matter” in the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to milestones to offboarding

  • Use engagement surveys and feedback loops to uncover insights and continuously improve the employee experience

  • Provide thoughtful, solutions-oriented support to employees navigating internal processes and transitions

Internal Communications & Culture

  • Lead internal communication strategies that drive clarity, alignment, and connection across a global remote team

  • Design and cascade comms plans for company-wide initiatives, using tools to streamline delivery and measure impact

  • Apply a design-forward approach to employee-facing materials, communications, and program content

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with People Ops, HRBPs, and leaders to scale people programs that reflect our values

  • Collaborate on initiatives related to onboarding, performance, recognition, and inclusion

  • Help set healthy boundaries and expectations through clear communication and thoughtful structure

Events & Connection

  • Plan and execute high-impact internal events and offsites (virtual and in-person) that build culture and foster belonging

  • Support Andela’s values and rituals through intentional programming that drives engagement and connection

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in People, Internal Communications, or Employee Experience roles

  • Experience in high-growth, global, remote-first tech or SaaS environments

  • Proven ability to lead internal comms: crafting messaging, aligning stakeholders, and cascading plans effectively

  • Skilled at designing engaging internal materials using tools like Canva, Google Suite, Slack, Notion, etc.

  • Strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Familiarity with people programs like onboarding, performance, engagement, and recognition

  • Working knowledge of performance management and people development practices

  • Empathetic and proactive; comfortable navigating ambiguity and setting healthy boundaries

  • Passionate about building an inclusive, scalable, and high-performing workplace experience

If you're energized by the idea of building thoughtful, people-centered experiences that scale—and want to shape how culture feels at Andela—we’d love to hear from you.

Pay range dependent upon experience level and skills:
