Overview:

We’re looking for a Regional Vice President to lead life insurance sales across our Mid-Atlantic territory. In this role, you’ll be the face of our business to key brokerage partners, helping them grow through strategic support, training, and collaboration. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage the Traditional Life Insurance (IUL, VUL, Term) sales effort for assigned BGAs within the Mid-Atlantic territory (PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA & WV) through personal visits to establish, maintain and strengthen relationships with Principals, their employees and the advisors whom they support.

  • Develop strong partnerships with the Centers of Influence (COIs) and general agencies by helping them build their business through value-added sales strategies.

  • Work closely with the assigned Internal Sales Consultant to ensure consistent sales message and all administrative details are completed.

  • Maintain detailed database of existing and prospective sellers, utilizing data to customize sales campaigns.

  • Conduct frequent sales activities and product training for existing and prospective partners. Conduct public and client appreciation seminars/events.

  • Manage travel expenses and premium budgets effectively. Deliver administrative reports in a timely manner.

  • Assist marketing and product development in creating materials and launching new products.

Qualifications:

  • External wholesaling experience preferably with individual life insurance products.

  • Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.

  • Demonstrated sales skills with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong results orientation.

  • Technical skills to use spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, CRM and other relevant software.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to growing organization.

  • Ability to manage expenses and be fiscally responsible and accountable.

  • Must have or obtain within six months life/health license and FINRA Series 6 & 63 securities registrations.

  • Ability to travel – approximately 70% of role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong track record in four-year degree program.

  • Prior internal or external wholesaling experience.

Additional Information:

  • The Sales Senior Consultant must reside in their territory within 12 months of hire if not already a resident within the territory.

  • Each Sales Senior Consultant will share an Internal Sales Consultant with one other Sales Senior Consultant (i.e., 2:1). The Sales Consultant will support the combined territories.

  • At Securian Financial Group, the internal title for this position is Sales Sr Con – Ext Wholesaling BGA.

The estimated base pay range for this job is: 

$65,500 - $125,000

Base pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. This job also includes sales-based incentive opportunity resulting in target total cash compensation of $276,500 - $336,000. Actual total cash compensation earned will be based on sales results. More information on base pay and sales-based incentive pay can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
