About us
anwalt.de is one of Germany's leading platforms for legal advice. We make legal advice easily accessible for prospective clients by connecting them with the right lawyer. Our legal tech platform is the first point of contact for legal questions. A profile on anwalt.de is an essential part of our lawyers‘ and law firms‘ online marketing. We combine the hands-on mentality of a start-up with the profitability and security of an established company. As a remote-first company, anwalt.de employs 100 people, who get to choose between working from home or at our Nuremberg office.
Join our team as a
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Location: Remote or Nuremberg
About the role and your impact
The IT team consists of 30 people, who work together in three cross-functional teams. As you can see, we are a product-centered organisation, with one-third of our colleagues working in tech. We are expanding our platform and will therefore develop new features in an agile and focused way. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Improving, enhancing and growing our cloud-based infrastructure estate
  • Working closely with our development teams to ensure we build and deliver the best solutions to each challenge
  • Being an agent of change, whom the teams can rely on - delivering well-structured usage instructions when something new gets introduced
  • Keeping an eye on how all our systems tick together in the background, providing insights, optimisation advice and raising concerns when somethings seems off
  • Challenging, investigating and optimising our infrastructure and networking, removing clutter and hacky workarounds, while replacing them with properly structured solutions
Main benefits of the job
  • Get involved in architectural decisions, we have our architecture "get-together" every Friday
  • Be a part of the transformation and modernisation of our tech stack and help not only make it working with, but rather native to the latest practices and standards
  • Influence the shaping of various parts of the IT landscape - tools, processes, technological solutions, ideas for product development - don’t be just a silent ticket monkey!
Your skills
  • 5 or more years in a similar position, with solid experience managing *nix-based systems in a hybrid and/or cloud environment (AWS)
  • Excellent track record of delivering reliable, scalable and performant infrastructure
  • Good understanding of networking, communication protocols and traffic management
  • Strong working experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation)
  • Deep familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker)
  • Design, implementation and optimisation of integration, delivery and deployment pipelines
  • Practical experience with observability and log-shipping concepts
  • Keen eye for security and a good grasp of related best practices
  • Understanding of software architecture, microservices and distributed systems
Skills that will really make you shine
  • Working knowledge of running modern backend and frontend applications, including frameworks such as Go, Symfony, Laminas, NodeJS, NuXT and VueJS
  • Proficiency in German is a plus (conversational/B2 level), as it may facilitate communication with stakeholders and team members (don’t worry: general communication in the IT team is in English)
What´s in it for you?
  • Flexible remote working options all over Germany (or in combination with an attractive workplace in the heart of Nuremberg)
  • Family-friendly and agile environment as well as regular community events and activities (approx. 4-6 times a year at different locations in Germany)
  • Fitness: Subsidy towards USC, FitX or EGYM Wellpass (max. 40 € per month)
  • subsidized lunch (4 € per day)
  • 30 vacation days
  • 24.12. and 31.12. off
  • Mobility: subsidy for „Deutschlandticket“ (70 %)
  • Company discounts (corporate benefits and FutureBens)
  • Full salary for up to 6 sick days per child per year (12 sick days for single parents)
