Job description

Job Title: Security Solutions Architect

Pay Type: SALARIED EXEMPT 

Location: Remote (US-Based)


Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The Security Solutions Architect will need a strong background in enterprise security design reviews, assessments, and compliance-minded evaluations. This role will focus on evaluating technical solutions, identifying control gaps, and reviewing system designs against security and regulatory best practices. You will work closely with client teams, technology partners, and security engineers to validate architectures, improve control effectiveness, and ensure proper integration of security capabilities across diverse enterprise environments.

 

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Conduct detailed design reviews of cloud and hybrid systems to assess security control coverage, technology alignment, and risk exposure.
  • Evaluate enterprise security controls across identity, data protection, endpoint, and monitoring domains—within Microsoft platforms and integrated third-party ecosystems.
  • Perform gap assessments and maturity reviews against leading security frameworks and organizational standards.
  • Review solution architectures and platform configurations to validate alignment with security baselines, access management policies, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, security engineers, and compliance leads to document findings and make actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with tool rationalization efforts, helping clients evaluate third-party security solutions for integration, overlap, and strategic fit.
  • Contribute to the development of internal best practices, reusable design review templates, and technical assessment reports.
  • Participate in security governance and design boards to ensure proper alignment of proposed changes and new implementations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during technology evaluation cycles, helping clients select and implement solutions that align with long-term security strategy.

Normal Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on system design evaluation, technical risk assessment, or enterprise security advisory.
  • Familiarity with modern enterprise security platforms, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party tools such as CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma, Okta, Tenable, or ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of control frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, or SOC 2, and how they apply to technical solution design.
  • Strong background in analyzing security architectures, identity and access models, endpoint protection strategies, and telemetry integration.
  • Experience conducting security reviews, documenting recommendations, and advising on remediation options.
  • Ability to translate technical security observations into clear business and risk-aligned recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead review sessions, document findings, and advise diverse stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting security evaluations across large enterprise environments or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with vendor selection processes and hands-on evaluation of security product capabilities.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SC-100, or other architecture/governance-focused credentials.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices, data governance strategies, or SaaS security models.
