What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic SVP of Operations to join our team. In this role you will oversee a high-performing team supporting a national, high volume consumer direct lending operation, ensuring scalability, compliance and operational excellence. This role is critical in overseeing and optimizing operational processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mortgage underwriting and a proven leadership track record in the mortgage industry.

What You’ll Do: 
  • Lead and manage the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
  • Oversee the mortgage underwriting process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Drive change management initiatives to support growth, operational scaling and process optimization
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance performance
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify areas for improvement
  • Utilize data to drive decision-making, operational forecasting and performance improvements
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the operations team
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mortgage operations including strong focus on underwriting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Must have previously served as SVP of Operations or SVP of Underwriting at a mortgage lending institution
  • DE (Direct Endorsement) certification required
  • Proven leadership experience in a high-volume, consumer direct mortgage environment is required
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting guidelines, regulations, and industry standards
  • Strong cross functional leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Compliance, Technology and Executive leadership
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in mortgage software and technology
 
**Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. ** 
  
Compensation: 
The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 depending on experience. This role also includes an opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus.
