About the Role:

As the Area Sales Manager, your main focus will be on reactivating former customer accounts to help boost sales across our comprehensive product range in Southern Germany. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in uncovering new business opportunities while nurturing and enhancing relationships with both existing customers and industry partners.

This position demands a solid technical grasp of industrial capital equipment, strong commercial acumen, and a knack for spotting and seizing opportunities across diverse customer sectors. You will receive robust support from dedicated technical subject matter experts, yet you will be expected to operate with considerable autonomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Kickstart initiatives aimed at reactivating and energizing our historical customer base in the region
  • Craft and implement a dynamic sales strategy for our magnetic separation, vibratory, and inspection systems throughout Southern Germany
  • Oversee the entire sales journey, from lead generation and qualification to crafting quotations, negotiating deals, and successfully closing orders
  • Spot and seize new business prospects across pivotal sectors including food, packaging, recycling, and heavy industries like quarrying and mining
  • Foster robust relationships with current customers and partners, ensuring they experience high satisfaction levels that lead to repeat business
  • Offer insightful product recommendations and technical guidance, backed by our extensive applications and engineering teams
  • Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and during customer site visits as required
  • Keep meticulous records of activities and opportunities using our CRM system, managing the complete sales pipeline from inquiry to closure
  • Provide comprehensive reports on regional sales performance and market trends to senior management

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in technical or capital equipment sales, particularly in sectors like food processing, bulk handling, recycling, or material processing
  • Experience engaging in B2B industrial sales environments, characterized by lengthy sales cycles
  • A strong grasp of engineering solutions with the skill to relay intricate technical information effectively
  • Proactive, organized, and adept at working remotely, with a willingness to travel frequently (70-80% of the time)
  • Fluency in German (native or near-native) with proficient verbal and written English skills
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possession of a valid driving license and readiness for extensive travel throughout Southern Germany and the EU, including occasional international trips to group facilities and clients
