About the role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Counsel to join our Legal team, to help support the growth of our business which exists at the intersection of the insurance and cybersecurity industries. This individual will be primarily responsible for supporting Coalition’s marketing, investor relations and public relations efforts and assisting with general corporate and contracting matters. 

A successful candidate must have outstanding communication skills, experience managing multiple priorities, a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork, and can anticipate and deliver on the needs of a fast-paced and innovative business. This individual must be adept at working in a remote environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal guidance and support to Coalition’s marketing, investor relations and public relations professional in the US and internationally
  • Advise and counsel on all issues related to global marketing programs in all media and formats 
  • Identify and advise on commercial and legal risks related to various marketing issues with respect to Coalition’s core products and services
  • Draft and maintain internal legal marketing guides and playbooks
  • Review and comment on marketing copy, public relations and media announcements, and draft releases
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of marketing agreements
  • Partner with the marketing team on review of various types of marketing materials and content to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, including insurance regulatory requirements
Skills and Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of relevant marketing law experience, preferably in the insurance industry 
  • Juris Doctor degree from top tier law school and current member, in good standing, with a US state bar
  • Knowledge of marketing law, advertising law, consumer protection regulations, copyright law, and right of publicity issues
  • Excellent legal and business judgment; comfortable tackling unfamiliar issues or problems 
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, meet deadlines, and effectively navigate a remote working environment
  • Successful track record in responding effectively to client requests, follow through on projects in a timely manner, and adapt to a fast-based and changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong negotiating skills in both legal and financial/commercial matters

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $175,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
