We make things possible for our customers through impactful innovation.

Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Head of QA who will bring a results & data driven approach to Quality; someone who keeps a finger on the pulse of pioneering testing tools and methods. You will report to the Senior Director of Product Engineering and will be responsible for cultivating a quality attitude throughout the company and growing the QA team technically and professionally. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the overall quality of the Calendly product and the testing practices that the team will adopt.

A day in the life of the Head of QA at Calendly

You will be working in an environment where collaboration and customer focus is key. A natural curiosity and tendency to question the status quo is encouraged to bring an innovative approach to quality.

On a typical day, you will be working on:
  • Directing, mentoring, and developing the SDET and QA Engineering teams, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Owning the definition and implementation of quality assurance metrics, setting clear goals and leveraging data to drive decision-making and transparency throughout the organization
  • Marketing and advertising QA services internally, driving broader adoption of the services across the company
  • Mentoring Senior level Quality Engineers and Quality Managers and raising the overall maturity and scalability of the Quality Engineering department
  • Ensuring comprehensive test coverage and continuous feedback on product quality, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and UX stakeholders
  • Finding opportunities to automate processes, frameworks, and workflows to promote efficiency - and ensure those are defined, documented, and adopted
  • Supporting the adoption of our QE Technical Strategy to put test automation at the front of the development and deployment workflow
  • Providing strategic support for adoption of test automation frameworks across testing layers (Unit, API, Integration, end-to-end, UI, performance, etc)
  • Creating, monitoring and communicating quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, critical path coverage and general testing status for assigned squads & groups
  • Discovering, acquiring and retaining the best talent to grow a world-class QA team
What do we need from you?
  • 12+ years of leadership experience managing matrixed QA teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, automation, tools, and processes
  • Adept at setting, monitoring, and visualizing quality metrics (OKRs, KPIs) and leveraging them to drive organizational performance
  • Demonstrated experience enhancing the overall abilities of the team by contributing to processes, sharing standard methodologies, and helping the team innovate to build great products
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to rally teams around a quality-first culture
  • Experience testing and leading quality teams for SaaS web applications in a Service Oriented Architecture
  • Ability to lead and track multiple projects in QA process at a single time
  • Experience fostering cross-functional alignment in fast-paced Agile development environments
