Job description

Role Description

The I&I National Account Director (NAD) collaborates with Pfizer partners to lead Pfizer I&I engagement with National Accounts. A NAD’s primary focus is to engage key accounts of national importance to include National and super-regional Hospital GPOs (e.g. Vizient or  Premier), national and super-regional Clinic GPOs (e.g, Unity, OnMark, IPN, United Rheum), large coalitions (e.g. Rx Networks, Captis) and alternate channel providers (e.g. Home Infusion, Infusion Centers, and/or Specialty Pharmacy (SPP) verticals.

The NAD is responsible for optimizing Pfizer I&I performance through mutually beneficial B2B interactions. The current focus of the NAD is on maximizing the short- and long-term value of the Biosimilar portfolio. This is accomplished by advancing contracting efforts with National Accounts and developing key initiatives that can improve patient care and that are impactful to our portfolio and the patients we serve.

Role Responsibilities

  • Expertly engage National Accounts and strengthen Pfizer’s position as a leader in Inflammation & Immunology and the biosimilar manufacturer of choice in the US.
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining business relationships with traditional GPO customers, and developing targeted new relationships with emerging intermediaries, in alignment with National Account Team strategy.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts with National Accounts to maximize business results. Enable such through collaboration with PCA contracting team, and in alignment with brand contracting strategy.
  • Works with I&I Biosimilars Marketing, Pricing, Sales & Account Management Leadership, Contracting Team and other HQ platform teams to advance product and pricing strategies that represent both our customer’s and Pfizer's best interests.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor customer account plans to support execution and stay in alignment with organization objectives.
  • Provide insight and expertise to internal Pfizer stakeholders (commercial leads, brand teams, etc.) on the National Account market, business and growth strategies to assist in defining long term relationship strategies and supporting product promotion.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience with a proven track record of performance and meeting organizational goals. 5+ years or more of demonstrated success in account management. Experience in biologics and buy-and-bill preferred.
  • Significant contracting experience required
  • Candidate should have an understanding of GPO purchasing, GPO – member relationships, and health care and provider-practice economics.
  • Demonstrated advanced negotiation skills, and success in consultative selling and leadership without direct authority.
  • History of building and managing relationships with executives of leading healthcare organizations.
  • Proven track record of advancing initiatives in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with field-based, brand and other HQ teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong business acumen, problem solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills, as well as excellent planning and prioritization skills.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Remote location.  This position can be located within a reasonable distance to any US-based major transportation hub due to the National nature of travel.
  • Travel includes internal meetings (e.g. POAs) and external meetings (e.g. GPO promotion) held across the country.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $182,000.00 to $303,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
