Outten & Golden LLP is seeking Associates in our New York, San Francisco, and Washington DC offices.


The Firm enjoys a strong national reputation for representing employees, executives, and partners in all areas of employment law—from representing senior executives in contract negotiations, to protecting individuals’ civil rights in the workplace, to combating worker exploitation and systemic discrimination in class action and impact litigation. More recently, the Firm has branched out into new cutting-edge consumer digital-discrimination litigation involving major social media platforms.

Responsibilities: Associates at O&G work on individual matters and class actions in all areas of employment law—including matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage theft, whistleblowing, leaves of absence, layoffs, and executive compensation—as well as on consumer and public accommodation class actions. Associates have extensive client contact and the opportunity to work on matters in a variety of contexts including federal and state courts, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC), as well as negotiations and client counseling.


Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:

  • Experience and Education: You have a minimum of 2 years of employment-law, whistleblower-related, or collective/class-action experience. You have strong analytical, writing, research, and organizational skills. JD 2021 or 2022 required. Must be admitted to practice in CA, NY, or DC.
  • Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork: You take ownership of your projects and follow through on their completion. You approach challenges with a growth mindset. You possess the ability to work well within a team and establish and maintain strong working relationships with fellow employees, clients, and other professionals.
  • Organizational Ability: Capable of managing a busy and diverse docket across multiple matters and deadlines. Strong multitasking and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Business Development: Displays initiative and creativity in identifying opportunities for business growth and client engagement. Skilled in communicating with potential clients.
  • Confidentiality: You must adhere to Firm policies regarding the protection of confidential data and demonstrate sensitivity to (and good judgment in connection with) confidential attorney, personnel, and Firm matters.
  • Mission Orientation: You are enthusiastic and passionate about our commitment to advocating for employee rights.You thrive when your work is connectedto purpose.


Compensation: An attractive compensation package (tailored to experience), with a target base salary range of $140,000 to $148,000 per year depending on class year. Outten & Golden offers our employees a robust benefits package including healthcare benefits.
