JOB DESCRIPTION
As a specialist in credits (statutory) and/or incentives (negotiated), will assist in the management of multiple and challenging site selection engagements, business incentives projects, and economic development consulting assignments that contribute to the delivery of our services to the marketplace. This includes domestic and international site selection and location analysis, economic incentives research and acquisition, target industry analysis, program development, and demonstrating the economic and fiscal impacts of a wide variety of projects to both corporations and governments, from inception and initial due diligence, to negotiating credits and incentives for tax-efficient transaction structuring.
Responsible for optimizing global operations and facilities to ensure long-term structural costs are minimized, capital expenditures are reduced or eliminated, and short-term operating decisions are scalable within a comprehensive strategic plan. Develop partnerships with service providers with technical resources to solve moderate to complex operations and real estate issues, with the ability to fully execute recommendations on a global scale. Newmark goal is to reduce our client's operating cost structure while improving service to its internal and external customers.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for leading and executing multiple projects.
- Be attentive to client’s requirements and effectively communicate the value proposition for services offered.
- Demonstrate an understanding of multi-state credit and incentive programs and local incentive programs.
- Deliver work products that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Identify and present credit and incentive opportunities.
- Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's business situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions.
- Work closely with client service team members. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals.
- May assist with selling and providing strategic consultation, as it relates to rationalizing various clients property requirements to the best realization of their business objectives.
- Participates in brand development.
- Depending on the complexity of the assignment, may execute client engagements across key service solutions sets.
- Develop and grow business relationships with brokers, business alliances, vendors, and clients.
- Estimate the scope of services required for the purposes of preparing moderate to complex proposals.
- Manage projects through processing large quantities of data and information and producing concise conclusions and readily understood presentations.
- Create strategic alliances with brokers throughout the network who are committed to providing client advocacy through the consultative and implementation services our firm provides.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred
- MBA or other specialized master’s degree preferred in Tax or Law
- CPA, JD or Enrolled Agent Certification
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax consulting experience or the equivalent experience in business or industry
- Broad exposure to state and local taxation
- Strong managerial skills and a proven record in leading teams
- Advanced organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated business development skills
- Knowledge of multi-state credit and incentive programs
- Experience in a commercial real estate or management consulting environment
- Problem solving, analytical, research and client service skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- An ability to develop highly creative solutions to complex issues
- Maintain high quality and professional standards
- Work effectively in a team to plan, manage and execute engagements
Salary: $295,000 - $300,000 annually
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $295,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
