About The Role
DESRI is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join its team as a director, artificial intelligence to lead the company’s AI vision and strategy.
What You'll Do
You’ll lead DESRI’s AI strategy working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance and business teams to drive AI adoption and innovation. The Director, AI will be responsible for developing and implementing AI-driven solutions to optimize DESRI’s growing portfolio. You’ll oversee AI implementations across power generation, predictive maintenance, grid management, operational efficiency and beyond. This leader will oversee AI strategy, IT enhancements, data science initiatives, and machine learning applications. In this role, you’ll leverage AI/ML models to enhance the performance of renewable energy assets across solar, wind, and battery storage. In addition, you’ll leverage ML algorithms and predictive analytics for demand forecasting, project siting, price optimization, increasing asset lifespans, driving portfolio performance, and enhancing business intelligence and management reporting.
Qualifications
An undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, or related field is required, along with an impressive record of academic and professional achievement and at least eight years of experience.
Deep knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, data analytics platforms, and experience with IoT are required.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills are essential.
Experience working in the renewable energy sector, utilities, or energy technology is highly preferred.
Knowledge of energy markets, forecasting models, and grid optimization techniques is preferred.
Intellectually curious individuals with keen attention to detail, an entrepreneurial-mindset, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, analytical acumen, and effective project execution abilities will excel in this role.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $180,000 to $220,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
