Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will identify business trends and problems through complex big data analysis. You will interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. You will design, develop and implement the most valuable business solutions for the organization. You will prepare big data, implement data modules and develop database to support the business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver on activities related to the strategy, design, development, implementation of Data Science - Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions for enterprise applications
  • Translate data into actionable insights to empower confident decisions, product creation & development, drive optimization, marketing techniques, business strategies and outcomes.
  • End-to-end ownership of work from ideation to production.
  • Develop, manage and maintain Machine Learning and Deep Learning infrastructure from pipelines and modelling to machine learning products and decision support.
  • Work with other Data Office teams and Data Engineers to build upon our data collection, storage, and processing infrastructure
  • Lead cross functional teams of Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Developers to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality.
  • Develop processes, tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Work with the technical team and provide learning programs and workshops like Bootcamps and hackathons to skill up AI literacy at Wesco.
  • Influence leadership to drive more data-informed decisions

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree - A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields is required.
  • 10+ years of Digital/Data/Analytics/Statistics experience, including 7+ years in Applied AI/ML and Data Science preferred
  • 5 years of experience in working with any of the deep learning frameworks like Pytorch, Tensorflow, Caffe, etc.
  • 5 years of proven track record of independent thinking and complex problem-solving. Work can include papers in reputed conferences or journals and/or patent applications.
  • 5 years of proven track record of R&D research in an industrial setting with multiple patents/patent applications.
  • 5 years of experience in robotics i.e., automation through reinforcement learning.
  • 5 years of experience in optimization theory like black-box optimization methods.
  • 5 years of experience in designing algorithms for IoT devices with resource and power constraints.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset to excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to take complex problem objectives and come up with innovative and flexible solutions.
  • Proven track record of driving changes.
  • Ability to reconcile complex possibly conflicting tasks and come up with realistic solutions
  • Experience with distributed data/computing and orchestration tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, Beam, Druid, Airflow, Presto etc.
  • Expertise with statistical techniques and their applications in business.
  • Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Python, JavaScript, Java, R etc.
  • Hands on experience in building ML enabled products or working with large complex data sets preferred
  • Hands on experience in applying statistical and ML modeling techniques to business - including classification, clustering, dimension reduction, regression, NLP, time series forecasting, and boosting to build explanatory, predictive, and prescriptive models appropriate for solving different problems preferred
  • Experience with distributed data/computing and orchestration tools: Azure Databricks, Spark, MySQL etc. preferred
  • Experience in designing and developing deep learning models using libraries and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras preferred
  • Experience in developing GenAI models using both managed service and open source tools, including but not limited to, deploying Large Language Models (LLMs), making API calls, leveraging vector databases and building LLM observability/ monitoring tools preferred

Compensation Details: $104,267 - $177,254

The compensation amount is not guaranteed. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience and qualifications.
