Investment Services Private Markets

We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

 

Finance & Accounting

You will be part of a team that will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that provides investment services on private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investments.

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Finance & Accounting (“F&A”) team as an Assistant Vice President / Vice President, in a Financial Controller role, to support Americas’ Private Markets portfolio.

 

This role covers primarily the finance, accounting, and reporting aspects of deal support, as well as on-going monitoring of the investment structure and valuations across the Americas private market investment teams. S/he is expected to work closely with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle. The role is also expected to support the Team Lead in various finance transformation initiatives.

 

What will you do as a Financial Controller?

 

Deal Finance

  • Collaborate closely with Investment Teams, Transaction Managers, Tax, Legal, Capital Markets Team and external advisors to provide finance expertise during investment, divestment, restructuring and loan financing activities.

  • Manage financial due diligence and review findings / purchase price adjustments during investment, divestment, and restructuring.

  • Establish financial operations and controls for wholly owned investments.

  • Evaluate financial controls and onboard non-wholly owned investee companies / assets.

  • Provide financial and operational inputs on holding structures, funding and cash repatriation mechanisms, and accounting / valuations considerations.

  • Provide oversight on the organizing and maintenance of investment holding platform, including corporate secretarial and financial reporting.

  • Partner with operation team to fulfill all operational requirements, including liaising with banks on funding requirements.

 

Asset Finance

  • Monitor key financial controls for asset operations - including cash controls and review of investee financials - and liaising with external auditors.

  • Analyze surplus cash of investments and drive cash repatriation solutions in partnership with Investment Teams, Treasury, and investee companies.

  • Prepare and review market valuation for private investments within corporate policy and provide value-added insights on market value movements and returns analysis.

 

Others

  • Work closely with the Team Lead to design and implement various finance improvement initiatives and analytics as part of Finance Transformation

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accountancy or equivalent

  • Certified Public Accountant preferred, ideally big 4 trained.

  • 5-8 years of relevant working experience, with at least 3-5 years in a public accounting firm doing Audit or Transaction Advisory, ideally within asset management.

  • Good understanding of deal closing mechanism

  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. Someone who is keen to learn and pick up new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • A driven self-starter with strong initiative; hands-on and comfortable to manage multiple tasks, confident to engage different stakeholders, and able to work independently to deliver outcomes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.

 

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $200,000.  Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
