Job description

Axalta’s Industrial Wood Coatings team is currently seeking a Territory Manager to develop new business opportunities and enhance existing account relationships for their wood market segment. This role will provide ongoing technical support to our customers through various stages of the lifecycle as well as position Axalta and our products as the preferred supplier to their customers.  They will be responsible for identifying new opportunities or areas to continue to grow our business.   

  • Perform day-to-day account management activities within assigned customer base.
  • Develop and implement sales and related business strategies to enhance Axalta’s position with customers.
  • Service customer needs through trials, start-ups, troubleshooting, training and ongoing account maintenance
  • Assist customers with product selection, testing and performance (SOP) specifications
  • Effectively collaborate with all members of Axalta’s commercial, technology and service support functions
  • The individual will also be expected to provide excellent customer service, be a strong ambassador of the company’s values and possess the ability to drive new sales growth

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Business discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive technical experience within the coatings industry or related coatings field.
  • Prior experience in the wood market segment
  • Knowledge of wood application techniques and finishing equipment is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar CRM, along with MS Office proficiency
  • 2nd Language: Spanish (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of time
  • Must be highly self-motivated and an independent performer
  • Possess strong communication skills - both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Possess presentation skills and be comfortable in conducting small training classes or making presentations at customer functions
  • Strong customer service aptitude and teamwork skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks
