Position Summary

Platform.sh is seeking a dynamic Strategic Account Executive to join our Sales team and drive growth in the DACH market. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of our expansion, uncovering and cultivating high-potential accounts while championing the Platform.sh brand. As a trusted advisor to our clients, you’ll forge strong connections across diverse business units, consistently exceeding sales targets. From sparking interest with prospects to sealing the deal and seamlessly transitioning relationships to our customer success and account management teams, you’ll own the entire sales cycle and make a lasting impact.

This position is a quota-carrying, individual contributor role focused on acquiring new Platform.sh customers. You will report directly to the General Manager of Sales, Western Europe. 

What you can expect
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to meet corporate objectives within new client accounts across your territory: Germany, Switzerland(German speaking part), Austria, and Eastern Europe.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals, including assessing buying intent and maintaining accurate customer data in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product support, sales engineering, and others) to ensure seamless support throughout the sales process.
  • Deliver product demonstrations to customers and partners (e.g., SIs and agencies), independently or with a Solutions Architect.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and product innovations to position Platform.sh effectively in the market.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with management, customers, partners, and internal teams, including pre-sales and onboarding.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Accurately forecast and close business opportunities, highlighting Platform.sh's unique value.
  • Drive new subscription revenue by building and managing a strong sales pipeline while owning the strategy and results for your territory.
  • Travel within your region to support sales efforts and foster strong customer relationships.
What you bring
  • Cloud Sales Expertise: 5+ years of success in technology-focused enterprise sales, with substantial experience working in the DACH region.
  • Proven Sales Performance: Consistent record of exceeding sales goals (monthly, quarterly, and annual), with a strong ability to win net-new business
  • Business Acumen: Passion for solving clients' business challenges by leveraging technology, combined with self-direction and resourcefulness.
  • Technological Aptitude: Quickly grasps new technological concepts, demonstrating a keen understanding and enthusiasm in the technology sector.
  • Pipeline Generation: Strong experience in generating sales pipelines, identifying leads, and nurturing prospects through to contract signature.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and engage effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: A positive, team-oriented attitude, with a readiness to collaborate within a global team setting.
  • Sales Methodologies: Skilled in solution and value selling; familiarity with MEDDIC/MEDDPICC is a strong advantage.
  • Self-Starter: Independent and proactive, capable of initiating and driving projects while being an integral part of a global sales team.
  • Tenacity and Target-Driven: Tenacious in pursuit of sales targets, with a strong desire to consistently exceed expectations.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) to manage relationships and maintain accurate sales data.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and German
  • Travel Flexibility: Open to travel (30–40%) to meet business needs
  • Adaptability: Flexible to evolving business needs, with potential to expand responsibilities into Account and Partner Management as the role grows.

  • Industry Expertise: Experience with platform-as-a-service (PaaS), cloud technologies, and web applications.
  • Professional Network: Established connections with Digital Agencies and System Integrators.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field (preferred).
