The Americas Indirect Channel Sales Team exists to drive growth in the indirect channel route to market and ultimately help grow Itron’s share and presence in North America’s water municipalities, electric, and gas public and cooperative utilities.
As the Channel Sales Manager for a specific territory of North America, you will play a critical role in driving the success of the overall sales growth for the Americas for all Itron business lines sold into the region through our channel partners.
Reporting to the Americas AVP of Channel Sales, for the defined territory, the Channel Sales Manager will manage Itron’s business interests and market-position, promote Itron to customers and support successful local sales channel partners (distributor/agent). Other responsibilities include assist with the daily opportunity management, forecasting, sales enablement and Itron partner support. Manage interfaces with the global Itron business functional teams to solve issues. Point of contact for everyday sales and account management decisions and issues that may arise from the partners.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for sales and production forecasting
- Support the partners with Itron technology and solution presentations and demonstrations
- Responsible for all sales in the region according to a quota set for the partners
- Support internal Itron sales process activities with sales operations
- Assist in the preparation of data for staff meetings/presentations including collation of market and product data based upon history and experience
- Responsible for partner operational assistance if needed after tender award
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of experience selling complex offerings to utilities and municipalities. Experience managing sales of distributor or resell partners is desired. Strategic Sales experience and experience using Salesforce.
Required Skills
- Professional experience in Sales/Channel Partnering in a matrix and international company that sells complex solutions including Hardware, Software and Services
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make the right decisions that represent Itron in the region
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills
- An effective team player and cross-functional contributor with strong drive for results
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and drive sales coordination needed to achieve target results
- Ability to ramp effectively and take ownership during ambiguous and time sensitive situations
- Recognize the need and determine travel plans to collaborate with partners.
- This is a remote position that can be located anywhere within the US territory assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Travel: 40 - 50%
