POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor, Systems Engineering this position works in close collaboration with multiple disciplines to support requirements and interface management across multiple NuScale products utilizing product lifecycle management (PLM), model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and other tools as needed. As part of the Systems Engineering team, this position will directly support product development teams as the lead Systems Engineer for one or more NuScale products while also supporting the development of integrated Systems Engineering infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working closely with engineering managers, supervisors, and design engineers, implement tailored and focused systems engineering best practices and processes for assigned product(s) that reduce design risk and complexity.
- Working with product design teams, develop product architectures represented as multi-level bills of material (BOMs) in PLM and MBSE tools.
- Support the design team in developing requirements engineering deliverables that provide functional, interface, and design requirements traceability at all levels for assigned product(s).
- Lead and manage the import, validation, decomposition, and allocation of requirements to the implementing design element within the BOM.
- Support the development of Systems Engineering standards, procedures, and infrastructure.
- Produce Systems Engineering deliverables in accordance with company procedures and standards.
- Effectively communicate with other technical and non-technical disciplines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education/Certification: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university required. Some coursework in Systems Engineering preferred. INCOSE Systems Engineer certification preferred. Specific training and experience in operating and maintaining nuclear power plants (i.e. Navy Nuclear training or NRC RO training) combined with relevant Systems Engineering experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of full-time, relevant working experience applying Systems Engineering concepts is required. Additional required experience includes:
- Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, tools, techniques such as
- Requirements Engineering (i.e., elicitation, derivation, allocation, traceability, etc.)
- Configuration management (i.e., familiarity with CM2, EIA-649)
- Verification and Validation (i.e., IEEE 1012)
- Model-based Systems Engineering (Sparx Enterprise Architect preferred or SysML preferred)
- Product Life-cycle management software (Aras Innovator preferred)
- Design/Gate Reviews
- Strong technical writing, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be proactive and work with minimal direction once tasks are assigned and understood.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Experience in power generation or nuclear industries
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $108,908 - $131,441 annually. The full pay range is $97,642 - $152,722.
