How You Will Make an Impact

The Federal and State Programs Coordinator will assist the Superintendent with the regions administration, compliance, and reporting requirements of Federal and State programs including Title I, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP/LCP/LCFF), School Safety, and School Accreditation. This Position will develop and monitor compliance processes and systems to ensure that the regions schools achieve and maintain complete compliance with fiscal and programmatic accountability standards. To maintain compliance and fiscal responsibility with Federal and State Programs, this Position will work in concert with Principals, school staff and other stakeholders.

  • Plan, coordinate, and be responsible for Program compliance, reporting, and data management involved with Federal and State Programs that include Title 1, LCAP/LCP/LCFF, School Accreditation, and School Safety
  • Prepare required Program reports for fiscal accountability and Program compliance
  • Review and revise applicable forms to ensure Program compliance
  • Review Program applications, amendments, school data and expenditure reports
  • Serve as the regions liaison for Federal and State program support, compliance, and reporting
  • Collaborate with school leadership to implement plans and procedures to maintain fiscal responsibility and compliance with Federal and State Programs
  • Partner with school leadership to support Program goals
  • Develop and manage record-keeping systems that provide accurate and timely information for reports
  • Participate in workgroups and school planning meetings to support State Accreditation plans, School Safety Program plans, Title 1 Program
  • Participate in Program audits and prepare requested information for audits
  • Establish communication workflows to keep all parties well informed of Program requirements, changes, and deadlines
  • Identify potential problems or opportunities for Program improvement and make recommendations to leadership
  • Analyze data to inform leadership of Program trends and to support decision-making
  • Keep leadership informed of potential concerns or unusual events that may impact Program compliance reports
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state public education laws and rules relevant to Title I, LCAP, school accreditation
  • Share best practices with school leaders
  • Attend trainings, conferences and workshops as assigned or appropriate to keep abreast of current practices, Programs changes
  • Administrative duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of team members and oversee their daily activities

 

Qualifications

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Knowledge of federal regulations, State guidance, and compliance requirements concerning Title I Program
  • Knowledge and understanding of State Accreditation process, procedures, requirements for public schools
  • Knowledge and understanding of State Local Control and Accountability Plan requirements for public schools
  • Knowledge of educational program improvement strategies and at-risk student indicators
  • Ability to interpret the application of law and regulations pertaining to State and Federal funds for schools
  • Ability to comprehend data and explain effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong commitment to team-work, problem-solving, and collaboration
  • Ability to take initiative, independent judgment and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with a variety of professionals
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree required. Masters Degree preferred
  • Valid State Teaching Credential required; Valid State Administrative Services Credentialed Preferred
  • Prior teaching experience required
  • Experience with education software and student information systems
  • Intermediate or Advance, or Expert skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination, high people engagement
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly

  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs)
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
