Job Summary
Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a passionate and motivated Intern to support our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This full-time internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advancing DEI efforts across various facets of the organization, contributing to impactful programming and initiatives. You will work directly with the Director of DEI Programming and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to help foster an inclusive and innovative workplace culture.
About the Ascend HBCU Internship Program
The Ascend HBCU Internship Program is a cornerstone of OVG’s commitment to fostering diverse talent and creating pathways into the sports and live entertainment industry. Designed specifically for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, this immersive program offers hands-on experience, professional development, and mentorship to prepare students for impactful careers.
Program Highlights
- Career Readiness Workshops: Students will participate in sessions designed to equip them with essential tools and strategies for entering the workforce with confidence.
- Mentorship: Each intern will be paired with an OVG leader who will provide guidance, support, and insights into their career journey.
- Capstone Project: Interns will collaborate on a project addressing real-world challenges in sports and entertainment, honing their problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills.
- Lunch & Learn Series: Students will engage with industry experts during company-wide sessions to gain a deeper understanding of the business.
- Capstone Showcase: The program culminates with interns presenting their capstone projects, celebrating their achievements and demonstrating the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired.
This role pays an hourly rate of $21 to $24.
This position will remain open until April 18, 2025.
Responsibilities:

Program Support
- Assist in the execution of DEI programs, such as Ascend Backstage, and leadership summits.
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, events, and activations, ensuring seamless planning and execution.
- Support the expansion and engagement of ERGs, including tracking membership and participation.
- Assist in the creation of mentorship programs aligned with DEI initiatives.
Communications and Marketing
- Develop content for internal communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and presentation materials to promote DEI initiatives.
- Collaborate with Corporate Marketing and Internal Communications teams to design campaigns for heritage and awareness months.
- Support the creation of DEI-related marketing materials for external and internal stakeholders.
Research and Reporting
- Conduct research on best practices and trends in DEI to support strategy development.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the impact of DEI initiatives and create reports for leadership.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and tracking systems for training participation and program success metrics.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and organize project management tools and documentation.
- Prepare materials for DEI meetings, events, and presentations.
- Handle scheduling and communications with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled full-time at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) at the time of the program start.
- Passion for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com).
- Experience with data collection and analysis is a plus.
