Cloud Operations Engineer (m/f/d)
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Global IT Operations team.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the teams responsible for Networking, Data Center, Backup, Monitoring and Automation, to manage and maintain our secure hybrid cloud infrastructures.
This role involves supporting core infrastructure, backend systems, development pipelines as well as production environments, and ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our cloud platforms.
Your tasks:
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure across on-premises, AWS, and Microsoft Azure environments. Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to implement and optimize cloud architectures
Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and reliability
Implement and manage cloud security measures, ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
Assist in cloud cost management and FinOps practices, optimizing cloud spending and resource allocation
Conduct regular system audits and security assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-related issues, working closely with development and other IT teams
Document cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures for operational efficiency
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, recommending improvements and innovations.
Your profile:
Education:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or other education (e.g., IT specialist / systems integration) with experience in public cloud administration (AWS and Azure)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on hybrid cloud environments
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
Experience in cloud cost management and FinOps practices
Willingness to tackle complex and challenging projects
Ability to work in a team
Goal- and result-oriented action ("doer mentality")
Good English language skills (written and verbal)
Specific Skills:
Strong expertise in AWS and Microsoft Azure, including relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator)
Awareness of healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27k)
Knowledge of system administration: Windows & Linux
Basic knowledge: script languages
Bonus: Knowledge in administrating network environments (Cisco Nexus and Cisco Meraki)
