The position is responsible for researching, writing, organizing ideas, and creating proposals designed to showcase OPEN MINDS capabilities and lead customers to purchase the proposed services. Most of these proposals are customized and address the specific needs of the client or prospect. Excellent research skills and the ability to write persuasively and articulately are essential, along with a keen understanding of project management and breaking a project down into steps and milestones. Additional duties include managing the business development team, developing other business development materials, conducting interviews and reviewing products or services.
Professional quality proposals will be developed in a variety of formats to include but not be limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Working closely with our executive, marketing, market intelligence, and consulting teams, the incumbent will respond to proposal writing needs in a professional, timely and credible manner. This position is expected to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, to achieve deadlines, and produce compelling, professional quality documents which will aid in securing business.
The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills and knowledge of general business practices and concepts. The scope of the position also includes outreach to clients, internal and external, as necessary to ensure accurate and professional proposal development. In-depth knowledge of the health and human service market, schedule flexibility, and ability to travel are required.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Meet revenue budget for the organization by managing the pipeline
- Lead the organization in developing innovative proposed solutions for potential customers
- Oversee the business development team deadlines and the quality of proposals and business development materials
- Participate in new project launches - with the transition from the business development team to the operating team
- Maintain relationships with senior advisors and advisory board relationships - building on their knowledge base and industry experience
- Participate in final presentations of client proposals - in web meetings and in on-site meetings
