Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented financial professional ready to take on an exciting challenge? We’re looking for a skilled Trust Account Administrator to spearhead our transition from traditional Excel-based accounting to the more robust and efficient Xero platform. You’ll work with a variety of client accounts, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities
  • Lead the migration of existing trust account data from Excel to Xero, ensuring data integrity throughout the process
  • Perform daily data entry of trust account transactions with unwavering accuracy
  • Meticulously record and categorize all financial movements for individual client accounts
  • Generate and issue receipts for incoming funds promptly and accurately
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of trust accounts, ensuring perfect balance and compliance
  • Implement and maintain a robust system for coding and categorizing all transactions within Xero
  • Ensure the precise balance between assets and liabilities for each client account at all times
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement best practices for trust account management in Xero
  • Provide regular reports and insights on trust account status and any discrepancies
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and ensure all processes comply with legal requirements

Requirements
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or trust accounting, with a strong foundation in financial principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Xero; willingness to become an expert in Xero trust accounting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to 100% accuracy in all financial tasks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to financial ethics standards
  • Excellent time management skills to handle a minimum of 20 hours per week efficiently
  • Comfortable with technology and quick to adapt to new software and processes
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and occasionally with clients
  • A quiet, professional home office environment with a reliable internet connection
