Job description

Position Summary:

Apellis is seeking a passionate and talented marketer for the role of Product Manager US GA ECP Marketing. It is an outstanding opportunity to make a significant impact for eyecare professionals (ECP) and their patients. This person will be deeply engaged with cross-functional partners, fostering collaboration and accountability and will report to the Associate Director, ECP Marketing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development of personal and non-personal tactics through development of content, design, submission, review, and approval process. Inclusive of ongoing updates and refinement of sales force resources, digital media resources, congress resources, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of initiatives that span across ECP channels including building and managing tactical plans and omnichannel frameworks to support go-to-market activities.
  • Execute on ECP-facing initiatives in partnership with training and sales. Support NSM and POA strategy and execution.
  • Support ECP non-promotional tactics including websites, SEM, banner ads, print, social media, videos and 3rd party programs.
  • Execute on the vision and plan for congress presence. Assist in event logistics including contracting, booth design and execution, booth staff, collateral, promotional items, lead generation, etc.
  • Define and clarify congress needs and objectives with the brand lead and work to establish and drive congress expectations.
  • Manage vendors and oversee portals for congress and field collateral.
  • Partner with ECP Brand Lead to efficiently and thoughtfully adhere to set budgets.
  • Help define and execute the vision and plan for US Marketing. Play a key role in driving US Brand Planning.
  • Build and nurture strong, positive relationships with key cross-functional partners, including the field sales teams, reimbursement, medical affairs, business intelligence and other marketing team members. Leverage those partnerships to uncover insights that can help guide marketing execution and ensure partner execution is in line with strategy/plan.
  • Manage agency partners and other vendors to ensure execution towards objectives.
  • Work closely with regulatory, legal, and compliance to build policies and procedures related to ECP marketing.  Ensure that all marketing processes, documents, and tactics are developed and implemented in accordance with Apellis corporate compliance guidelines.

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus

Experience:

  • 3+ years of biotech/pharma marketing experience
  • Experience in US launches and rare diseases is preferred
  • Experience in sales or customer-facing roles is a plus

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Passion for understanding and championing the needs of people treating serious diseases, translating them into market-moving insights
  • Strong technical marketing skills - depth in both personal and multi-channel marketing
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, managing through ambiguity
  • Commitment to collaboration and engagement, with a history of success leading in a matrix environment and with agency partners
  • An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the drive to embrace innovation and develop creative but well-reasoned solutions to business challenges
  • Demonstrated integrity on the job, including an understanding of relevant rules and regulations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and varying levels of the organization 
  • Open to remote, east-coast based candidates; must be willing to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and attend events outside of business hours (e.g., occasional weekends and evenings)
