About the role...
The Sr. Organizational Development and Training Specialist is responsible for partnering with the Program Life Cycle (PLC) Project Team to help manage all aspects of the changes associated with this project. The PLC Project is a multi-year, cross functional project to replace old systems and redesign the way that we manage and operate Road Scholar Programs through a new central system. This Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all PLC training related needs. They will partner with the PLC Team Training Lead and stakeholders to design training content through use of multiple delivery methods (e-learning, instructor led, self-paced, etc.). As a member of the RS HR team, they will also apply project management skills, business acumen, and relationship management skills to ensure the change is successfully reinforced throughout the business.
Road Scholar offers a remote work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $80,000 - $95,000 based on experience.
In this role, you will...
- Create and execute learning strategies and programs that align to Road Scholar Learning & Development strategy. This includes innovative best practice training and change management methodologies to help ensure knowledge transfer.
- Work closely with PLC project team to continually manage change, assess workplace challenges (performance related and morale) diagnose issues, design and implement actions to remediate.
- Serve as the SME for training needs analysis, design and delivery to ensure Road Scholar Learning & Development best practices throughout the Program Life Cycle (PLC) Project.
- Collaborate with the PLC Team Training Lead to refine training strategy, develop training plans
- Execute all aspects of preliminary course building: project manage the end-to-end process, building the courses, utilizing the LMS, vetting materials with the documentation and process stakeholders.
- Execute all aspects of course building based on the strategy. This can include learning courses, instructor-led workshops, train-the-trainer sessions and other trainings.
- In partnership with key stakeholders, oversee implementation of new training initiatives while providing ongoing support and monitoring to ensure knowledge transfer, success and effectiveness.
- Conduct continuous research studies on new course materials and training techniques to develop and improve existing training content and methods.
- Make sound business decisions with a strong focus on employee performance/development to help enable employees serve participants and be promoters of the Road Scholar brand.
- Foster a training environment with a focus on continuous learning and making Road Scholar a great place to work.
- As a member of the ODHR department, attend all HR-related team meetings and provide ad hoc participation on various ODHR projects. Partner with other members of the ODHR team to help ensure HR needs are well understood and are being met.
We're seeking...
- Minimum Associate's degree or commensurate level of experience in related field; Bachelor's degree preferred with comparable work experience
- 5+ years experience adult learning theory and course building utilizing technical tools (i.e., course content creation software and learning management systems).
- 5+ years experience managing complex change management initiatives
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of: superior leadership, team-building, and change management.
- Experience with learning management system and content creation software required.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of best practices in the creation & design of instructional materials for adult education and/or corporate training.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in the accessible and inclusive design of in person and online training materials.
- Excellent written, email, verbal and phone communications skills required; must be a highly polished presenter.
- Ability to effectively use all technological systems, tools, statistical research, and other resources to maximize efficiency and performance.
- Ability to prioritize workload, deadline driven, autonomous, and results oriented.
- Flexibility; open to challenges; skilled at working on several projects simultaneously.
- Quality driven; highly motivated; attention to detail and accuracy.
- Practices the principles of mutual respect, kindness, and appreciation of diversity. Deals openly and honestly with others and does so in a true spirit of cooperation and camaraderie.
