About the role:
As an Underwriting Assistant on our rapidly growing Insurance team, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with Underwriters and external partners. You will help our Underwriting team complete business critical tasks, as well as engage directly with agents, brokers and insureds to field questions related to our appetite and underwriting platform. Your technical and communication skills will directly contribute to the company’s top line goals.
What you’ll do:
Resolve technical and non technical inquiries from agents, brokers and insureds via written or virtual channels
Work closely with the Underwriting team to ensure thorough and consistent execution across new and renewal business files
Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage documentation pertaining to troubleshooting and problem resolution
Diary important dates and deadlines for underwriting
Work with agents and insureds to deliver quotes, binder, policies, and endorsements
Issue formal notices as necessary for policies
Assist in onboarding customers and facilitate communication between fleets and external camera partners as needed
About you:
2-3 years of underwriting/operations experience in the insurance industry, preferably in the transportation segment
Exception attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal & external stakeholders
Self-starter who independently seeks out opportunities to learn and succeed
Bias-to-action - you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself
Owner mentality - take accountability for your actions and results
Successfully able to work in high-growth, ambiguous environments
College degree preferred but not required
Benefits:
We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000. The actual base salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process.
