Job description

What You'll Do

Avalara is looking for a Senior Product Manager with advanced Workday Financials experience. You will be reporting to a Senior Director of Enterprise Solutions and you will not have direct reports. This role is remote-friendly.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

As an individual contributor you will:

  • Develop the Workday Product roadmap in close collaboration with leadership, Engineering and Partner teams to build efficient, and scalable processes
  • Establish processes to improve request in-take and prioritization, in close collaboration with the Partner, Sales, Product and Engineering teams in the US and India
  • Maintain upgrades and releases, communicating with the partners of the business processes impacted by changes and other related downstream impacts
  • Manage enhancements and standard maintenance in a way to deliver the important milestones identified on the roadmap
  • Lead Workday Product solutions to include business case development, project planning and management, requirements gathering, functional specification documentation, solution design, test planning, test execution, status updates, deployment, and post-deployment support.
  • Support identification and escalation of risks, providing strategic guidance and developing alternative technical and functional approaches.
  • Understand our requirements, configuring the Workday Financials connectors and documenting.
  • Participate in the change management and launch support processes of any new and modification of existing configuration
  • Facilitate review sessions with Sales, Solutions Engineers, Professional Services and other end-user representatives
  • Primary contact for questions related to how the system works from a business and a technical perspective
  • Provide production support for Workday by troubleshooting problems, testing, and working with the business to resolve issues


What You'll Need to be Successful

You Will Have

  • Workday Expertise 6+ years of experience with Workday Product Management.
  • 6+ years proficiency in Workday Financials
  • Expertise on all modules within Workday Financials Management with the ability to configure and troubleshoot issues across all modules
  • Experience with Workday Extend/Built on Workday and Workday Studio, maintaining custom developments
  • Expertise in driving cross-cultural team collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence for project management.
  • A focus on success and personal growth, with a commitment to learning
  • Experience with Indirect Tax Software integrations. (ie Sovos, Avalara, Vertex)
